The Kent Construction Focus Group (KCFG) is a one-stop-shop for local businesses to discuss the future of Kent development, giving companies access to local knowledge, expertise and contracts. KCFG promotes the future role of Kent land development and construction businesses in the growth and development of Kent and its environment.

Dr Abdullahi Ahmed and Ms Sheikholeslami

Come and here about Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) Engineering curriculum and their CDIO Approach. CCCU is one of only a handful of Universities to offer the pioneering CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate) international engineering education model, developed by the world-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in collaboration with business. Their students have the opportunity to work on real projects provided by companies across the region to ensure they learn to think and act like industry professionals. They offer a friendly and welcoming learning environment and support their students to achieve their full potential. Their dynamic courses reflect the breadth of engineering and computing career choices open to graduates.


Ghazal Sheikholeslami

Ms Sheikholeslami is a School CDIO lead and Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, a Course Director for BENG/MENG for Mechanical Engineering courses and Founding Course Director for MSc of Advanced Manufacturing Systems and Technology at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Ghazal has 10+ years of experience in Advanced Manufacturing and Laser based processing and industrial engagement along with excessive experience as educator in HE. Ghazal is a member of Early Career Researchers Committee at Association of Industrial Laser Users (AILU).

 

 

 


Abdullahi Ahmed

Dr Abdullahi Ahmed is the Director of Engineering and Built Environment at Canterbury Christ Church University.

With over 20 years of industry and higher education, Dr Ahmed is a highly experienced educator and leader in the fields of Engineering and Built Environment, where he has depth and breadth of experience in the construction life-cycle as it relates to digital construction, circular economy, energy efficiency, performance management, and retrofit.

Dr Ahmed is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering.
