Kent & Medway Manufacturing Focus Group (KMFG) – April

BAE Systems – Site Visit

14 manufacturers from across Kent & Medway were invited to take a tour of the impressive facilities at BAE Systems in Rochester to see first hand the innovative manufacturing processes that make them one of the leading providers of some of the world’s most advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions.

We were given a comprehensive introduction to their organisation; their history, their core values, people strategy and future investment plans followed by a tour of their operations, culminating in an opportunity to fly both a commercial airline and a fighter jet in their state of the art simulators.

An inspiring and insightful visit, it was enlightening to see a company investing so heavily in their skills and people.

They were exceptional hosts, thank you to their team, Dan Palmer, Jade Bushell, Dave Banks, Jenny Lynskey, Angela, Gary, Paul & Baz, for facilitating the visit and the very warm welcome. It was a morning well spent with lots of enthusiasm and engagement from the businesses that joined us – thank you for your contributions.
