The LSIP Team were delighted to welcome attendees to the May edition of the Kent & Medway Manufacturing Focus Group (KMFG), held at the elegant Chilston Park Hotel.

The event brought together a dynamic group of manufacturers and stakeholders for an afternoon of insight, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. Special thanks go to our outstanding speakers, who made the session especially impactful:

  • William Wilsnagh shared how the Made Smarter South East Digital Transformation Programme can help businesses gain a competitive edge through technology adoption. Learn more and apply at www.madesmarter.uk.
  • Shane Forster, representing The Education People, spotlighted the value of Supported Employment programmes and the difference they can make to business and community alike.
  • Matt Peake from the Kent & Medway Careers Hub explored multiple avenues for building future talent pipelines, including Work Experience, Teacher Encounters, and Employer Standards.
  • Camilla Maurice, LSIP Project Lead, updated the group on the Department for Education’s latest Skills Revolution initiative and shared information about funding and innovation opportunities available to manufacturers across the region.

Thanks also go to Chilston Park Hotel for providing a stunning venue and an exceptional lunch experience.

We now look ahead to our next KMFG event: a site visit to Syntech Biofuel on Wednesday 25th June. Space is limited, so early booking is encouraged to secure your place and continue the conversation on innovation, skills, and sustainability in manufacturing.
