We extend a huge thank you to Wire Belt Company Limited for hosting our Kent & Medway Manufacturing Focus Group (KMFG) on Weds 30th October.
An engaging and informative few hours and we thank Gary Allen, Paul Walsh and the Team at Wire Belt for the generous hospitality, the insightful and comprehensive factory tour and for highlighting the fantastic work they do engaging with local education providers and young people to future proof their workforce and the many benefits that brings. They certainly are leading the way!
We were also delighted to have Vickie Pinnell from the Kent & Medway Careers Hub join us to show the varied ways you can increase your engagement with education and we encourage everyone to reach out to them for further support and guidance.
Thanks to all who joined us for your contributions to the lively conversation and information sharing.
KMFG returns in November! Join us at Eastwell Manor Hotel on Weds 27th November from 12-2pm. Our Headline Topic is the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
“Navigating the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: Implications for Businesses within the manufacturing sector in Kent & Medway”
The EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is set to have far-reaching effects on businesses that trade with the EU, particularly those involved in industries with high carbon emissions.
We will explore the specific implications for companies within the Kent Manufacturing Focus Group (KMFG) and how they may be impacted by CBAM’s requirements.
We will examine how CBAM will affect supply chains, increase compliance costs, and create opportunities for businesses adopting lower carbon practices.
By understanding the operational and financial impacts of CBAM, KMFG companies can proactively adjust their strategies to remain competitive in the European market.
