Local Skills Improvement Plan

Our first Kent & Medway Manufacturing Focus Group (KMFG) of the year took place at Salomons Estate in Tunbridge Wells on Wednesday 29th January!

Once again representatives from across the manufacturing and engineering sectors convened, alongside education providers, to network and connect.

Attendees heard from our Guest Speakers who, this month, were Andrew Metcalf from Maxim PR who provided an engaging economic update and outlook including the current picture on Devolution here in Kent & Medway and an update on the Major Projects in the region; their impact and implications.  We also heard from Morag Bailey from local food manufacturer, PrepWorld, who outlined their history, their business model, quality and compliance, values and community work and their People Strategy.

Thank you to the team at Solomons Estate for hosting us and, as always, the LSIP Team and Membership Managers from the Chamber for supporting the event.

There’s no KMFG in March as we are hosting our inaugural cross-sector Skills Summit – SKILLS 25 – at The Mercure Great Danes Hotel, Maidstone on Tuesday 18th March.
