Local Skills Improvement Plan
by Kim Pitchley

The project has now completed it’s mobilisation phase and we are now progressing our engagement with key Stakeholder groups and Employer Representative Bodies such as the IoD, CBI, Produced in Kent and many others. We have launched this website to enable Employers to register their interest in participating in the project and will be commencing a telephone engagement campaign imminently.

This campaign will reach out to eight thousand businesses in Kent & Medway and will add to the existing engagement activity we undertook last week with our Chamber Membership. Employers can choose to be involved in just the light touch survey or be part of the wider more in depth Employer Engagement Groups, that will be used to conduct a deep dive analysis of sector based skills gaps.

Our next phase will also see the secondment of Skills Adviser from the three FE Colleges in Kent who will commence the solution research and analysis exercise where we hope to identify existing and innovative ways of delivering the skills provision in Kent & Medway.
